How many times the cards have been in the hands of the public, or for how long, is unknown. This scene has likely happened before - With the existence of a previous High Card group described by Arya Tawawa, as well as Van Klondike telling Detective Young that 'history repeats itself', with Young asking about the attack on the palace. Theodore Pinochle summoned High Card to find and bring back the cards.

Just before they escaped by helicopter, however, the briefcase containing the cards was struck with a gust of wind, breaking open the lock and releasing all the cards, which were launched across the nation.

In the beginning of Episode #01: ONE SHOT, two Klondike family members, Tilt and Iris, attacked the kingdom palace, where Iris, with the help of the unknown card（8 of Spads） 'All Kaboom', broke in and stole all the X-Playing cards in the palace. With the 52 X-cards born, the silver-haired boy used the deck's powers to slay the invading forces and protect the four nations, becoming the first king of Fourland. While the warriors were killed in battle, though, their souls were not lost, and their devotion to the nations were transferred to the cards via the mage's power. However, all 52 of them were slain on the battlefield. They each swore a blood oath to the mage, leaving a drop of their blood on the card. In the end, 52 knights were gathered from the four lands and formed a group to save the islands, and the mage gave every one of them a strange card. If you wish to save this land, choose thirteen knights from each of the four lands and fight by his side.'

However, a mysterious mage appeared with a small silver-haired boy and a message: Hunting down warriors and civilians alike, the war seemed one-sided. When Trapla was still divided, an invading nation (presumably Vikings, as shown in the beginning of Episode #06: TAKE BACK FIVE) came to conquer the island.
